There’s something special about The Battery, especially on a dark, cloudy evening. The colourful homes tucked into the rocky hillsides, the old fishing stages along the water’s edge, and the last splashes of autumn colour along the shoreline. Even without the sunshine, there’s so much beauty and character in this little corner of Newfoundland.
Looking at these old buildings, I often wonder about the stories they could tell. The generations of families who called this place home, the fishermen who worked along these shores, and all the changes this little community has seen over the years.
So much history tucked away in one small place. Some things may have changed, but there’s still something about The Battery that feels like stepping back in time.
Sometimes you don’t need sunshine to appreciate the beauty around you.
